Solving the Origin Problem with Oraichain
Fraud is still far too common in the art world. Behind each great artist is an incredible copycat, looking over their shoulder with attention to every detail. The forgeries often take a true expert to distinguish between real and fake. While the traditional art world has a rich history of deception, non-fungible tokens have presented a solution to the question of ownership, both for physical and non-physical goods. Digital artists are in the spotlight and their creations are finally receiving some much overdo attention, but while NFTs have presented a solution for chain of custody, the problem of origin still remains. Without proof of origin, the possibility of fraud is real and the copyright of the underlying artwork is essentially worthless.
Earlier this year, humanoid robot Sophia, developed by Hong Kong based Hanson Robotics, sold its first NFT at auction for more than $700k. As machine learning and artistry come together to transform the art world, demanding high prices and competing with artists in traditional mediums, an age old question still looms: how do we determine the authenticity and origin of this work? Today we’re going to be looking at a brand new, patent pending (both U.S. and international), application from Oraichain. aiRight is a user friendly NFT and copyright generator harnessing the power of the world’s first A.I. Oracle, but the team isn’t stopping there; they are working diligently to create an entire ecosystem for aiRight, complete with marketplace, NFT exchange and DeFi offerings.
Oraichain has taken the first step in their long journey towards solving the origin problem with aiRight. With a few clicks, the user can create AI Generated images, music and video using the power of Oraichain’s AI Oracle to guarantee uniqueness and issue copyright directly on the blockchain.
A.I. Providers can create models and API’s that users can access through aiRight. The user customizes the input and generates a unique piece of digital artwork. While the scope of the initial models is still forthcoming, the sky’s the limit for creativity. Data Scientists at Oraichain have created the initial API’s, but promise that in the future any data scientist will be able to create A.I. API’s in order to contribute their models to aiRight.
Once the artwork is created, aiRight uses Oraichain’s Oracle network to check for uniqueness and if the NFT already exists, a copyright can’t be issued. If the originality of your newly generated artwork is verified by the AI Oracle,then and only then will a copyright be issued to the user.
The piece is then stored both off chain, using decentralized file storage, and minted on chain as either a BEP721 or ERC721 token. This token is instantly transferred to the users wallet. If you’re not in a rush to sell your first AI creation, you can access your NFT from your wallet through IPFS decentralized file storage and display your work as you please. You can also choose to list your artwork for sale on Oraichain’s AI Marketplace or external marketplaces such as Open Sea, Rarible, or Super Rare. When your NFT is sold, it is not only the artist who receives royalties from resale, but also the A.I. Providers that created the model and provided the API to aiRight.
Oraichain has made using AI to create artwork simple and profitable for all participants. Soon, individual data scientists will be able to contribute models to Oraichain’s AI Marketplace. This will encourage more to share their developments and ensure that, with aiRight, both the artist and the creator of the tools used will receive royalties for their contribution.
Down the road, Oraichain hopes to integrate aiRight directly into digital editing software to bring instant and verifiable copyrights to music studios, animation suites, movie editing software and even your home studio. This means creators using software like Pro Tools, Adobe and Final Cut would be able to secure a copyright for their original work, with its uniqueness verified, with a few clicks. The legitimacy of your copyright is secured. You can be confident that your NFT is your own and that all of the contributors will be rewarded for their work.
These developments from Oraichain are only the beginning. They have teased an entire ecosystem for aiRight that will allow users to fully manage their NFTs. The application will not only feature NFT creation and marketplace access, but will bring yield farming and other DeFi opportunities to users. Just as exciting as the individual details, the overall project presents itself as an exciting proof-of-concept for Oraichain. Their A.I.
